Frequently Asked Questions

HOW FAR DO VVC VETS TRAVEL?

VVC covers a large area of northeastern Wisconsin, currently serving clients in Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Marinette, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca, Winnebago counties. We believe that having the right fit is hugely important in veterinary-client relationships, and if we believe that fit can be achieved, we are open to traveling a significant distance for our clients.

WHAT ABOUT EMERGENCY SERVICES?

A VVC veterinarian is on call 24/7/365 to attend to the urgent needs of our clients’ animals. We do not use an answering service, meaning if a client calls our office with an emergency after our normal business hours, they will always speak with the veterinarian on call. Emergency calls should always be made using the main business phone number, (920) 833-6833.

HOW DO I KNOW IF VVC IS RIGHT FOR MY DAIRY?

If you are interested in working with VVC, please give us a call at (920) 833-6833. We will take down your information and an owner of the practice will call you personally. Our process for taking on new dairies is based on an initial visit at the farm to learn about the farm’s history, the people involved, and the vision for the future. We also like to tour the farm. This meeting gives all involved a chance to assess how well VVC will fit. If it’s mutually determined that VVC would be a good fit for your dairy, we will consider your needs and determine which veterinarian(s) would be best to partner with your farm.

WITH SO MANY VETS ON STAFF, WILL I BE ABLE TO HAVE A ONE-ON-ONE RELATIONSHIP WITH MY VET?

Absolutely. We value our relationships with our clients above all else. Each farm using VVC for routine herd health will have a veterinarian who is their personal vet. In some cases, we have two veterinarians serving the same herd, alternating visits at the farm. We find this approach provides us not only additional scheduling flexibility, but also an added perspective on the management of the farm. It can provide an additional “set of eyes,” without sacrificing consistency. The primary veterinarian(s) for the farm also have access to the expertise and ideas of 13 other veterinarians, allowing us to work as a team to find solutions for your dairy.

DOES VVC ONLY WORK WITH CATTLE?

VVC is a bovine practice at its core. We do not work with small animal or equine patients.
